π¨ Watchlist Update: Multiple Buy Levels Triggered
Two stocks from our Top 10 Breakout Watchlist last week have already reached their recommended buy levels. Here’s a quick rundown:
Klaviyo, Inc. (NYSE: KVYO) broke out of a symmetrical triangle pattern and touched our buy level of $21.50, reaching an intraday high of $21.82 before pulling back to close at $21.33.
Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ: TSCO) broke out of a symmetrical triangle pattern and touched our buy level of $35.20, hitting an intraday high of $35.48 before closing at $35.10.
Bottom line: Both stocks touched their buy levels intraday but closed just below them β watch for decisive closes above $21.50 (KVYO) and $35.20 (TSCO) to confirm the breakouts, then use trailing stops to lock in gains and let the winners run. And now, on to today’s featured setupβ¦
Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc (NASDAQ: JAZZ) just gapped higher out of a falling wedge pattern on a +7.13% single-session surge β and looks headed even higher.
As we’ll get to just ahead, the combination of a record quarter that pushed its full-year sales outlook higher, a newly expanded cancer drug that’s gaining early traction, and a fresh technical breakout makes JAZZ one of the more interesting setups on the board. Here’s what’s going onβ¦
The Themes Behind the Move
Jazz Pharmaceuticals is a Dublin, Ireland-based biopharmaceutical company, founded in 2003, that develops and sells medicines for sleep disorders, epilepsy, and cancer β including sleep medicine Xywav (for narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia), seizure treatment Epidiolex (for rare childhood epilepsies), and cancer drugs Ziihera, Zepzelca, Rylaze, and Modeyso.
In plain English, Jazz built a highly profitable business around a handful of medicines for rare sleep and seizure disorders β and it’s now using that cash engine to build a second growth franchise in cancer. Its biggest new bet is Ziihera, a targeted drug for tumors that carry high levels of HER2 (a protein that fuels some aggressive cancers). Its business hinges on how well Xywav holds up against rising competition, how quickly doctors adopt Ziihera, and whether its pipeline of rare-disease and cancer drugs delivers.
JAZZ’s latest move reflects a powerful confluence of developments β financial, clinical, and commercial β that have come together in rapid succession to reframe the company as a diversified growth story rather than a one-franchise sleep-drug maker.
| Theme / Catalyst | What Happened | Why Traders Care |
|---|---|---|
| Record Q3 + raised FY26 guidance | Jazz reported record Q3 revenue of $1.243 billion (+10.4% YoY), powered by 35% oncology growth and continued Xywav expansion. Management also raised and narrowed FY2026 revenue guidance from $4.60β$4.75 billion to $4.775β$4.85 billion. The stock jumped +7.13% in the following session. | The new low end of guidance sits above the old high end β a clean signal that management sees the business running ahead of plan. The midpoint rose roughly $137.5 million (~2.9%), strengthening the near-term earnings trajectory heading into 2027. |
| Ziihera first-line launch + strong survival data | In August, the FDA approved Ziihera-based combinations as a first-line therapy (the first treatment doctors reach for) in certain HER2-positive advanced stomach and esophageal cancers. Ziihera generated $21 million in Q3 sales, with September delivering a threefold jump in new ordering accounts versus August. Mature Phase 3 HERIZON-GEA-01 results presented at ESMO showed median overall survival of 27 months, roughly 40% of patients alive at three years, and a hazard ratio of 0.65 (about a 35% lower risk of death). | Ziihera is Jazz’s most important new growth driver, and management still estimates $3β$5 billion in potential peak sales across HER2-expressing cancers. Durable survival data strengthens the case for physician adoption β and every dollar of Ziihera growth reduces Jazz’s long-term reliance on its sleep franchise. |
| Sector tailwinds + pipeline expansion | Jazz offers exposure to several attractive specialty-pharma themes: precision cancer drugs with proven survival benefits, rare neurological diseases with high unmet need, and growth through targeted acquisitions. In September, it completed its acquisition of Actio Biosciences for $820 million upfront plus up to $500 million in milestones, adding ABS-1230 β a potential first-in-class precision treatment for a rare genetic form of epilepsy. Modeyso also received Japanese regulatory approval in September. | This is primarily a company-specific execution story rather than a sector-wide rally β and that’s a strength. Jazz pairs substantial existing revenue and cash generation with a growing set of longer-dated pipeline bets, including a rare-epilepsy asset that complements Epidiolex and international expansion for Modeyso. |
| Cash generation + buybacks | Jazz has generated $1.3 billion in operating cash flow over the first nine months of 2026 and holds $2.9 billion in cash and investments against $5.6 billion in gross debt. The Q3 GAAP net loss of $483.4 million was heavily affected by a roughly $754 million acquired R&D charge tied to Actio, per the earnings release. Jazz also repurchased about $225 million of stock and authorized a new $500 million buyback program. | The headline loss is largely a one-time accounting hit from the acquisition β cash flow is a clearer view of the business this quarter. Strong cash generation funds both debt service and buybacks, and a fresh $500 million authorization signals management confidence while adding a steady source of demand for the shares. |
| Analyst coverage | Among the 17 analysts covering JAZZ over the past three months, the average twelve-month price target sits at $301.82, with a high target of $337.00 β implying roughly 31% upside from the $229.74 close. Post-earnings actions were constructive: Morgan Stanley raised its target to $319 (Overweight), RBC Capital to $305 (Outperform), and Barclays to $275 (Overweight), while Goldman Sachs and UBS sit at $337 (Buy). | Three target raises on a single day after the report show the Street responding to the guidance increase. With the consensus at roughly Moderate Buy and average targets clustered near $300, analyst expectations sit comfortably above current levels β and right in line with our second price target. |
| Market conviction signal | JAZZ gapped from $214.44 to a $225.37 open and closed at $229.74 on its heaviest volume in several weeks. Options positioning leans call-heavy, with 5,659 call contracts versus 1,102 puts in a recent snapshot and about 2,923 contracts of open interest in the December 18 $240 calls. Short interest stands near 9.42% of float, with roughly 6.9 days to cover. | Buyers didn’t just nibble at the breakout β they paid up overnight to get positioned. The options evidence is mildly bullish rather than a smoking gun, but a meaningful short position means continued positive execution could force short sellers to buy back shares, adding fuel to the move. |
| Upcoming triggers | Traders are watching the Society for Neuro-Oncology meeting (November 12β15), with Modeyso presentations on November 13β14; investor conference appearances at Jefferies London (November 17) and Piper Sandler and Citi (December 2); initial patient data for ABS-1230 expected in Q4 2026; a Phase 3 interim survival analysis for Modeyso in 1H 2027; and an FDA decision on the Epidiolex capsule formulation by April 16, 2027. | A staggered set of catalysts β medical meetings, investor conferences, early pipeline data, a late-stage survival readout, and an FDA decision β each capable of independently moving the stock over the coming months. The next earnings report will also give the first fuller read on Ziihera’s first-line launch. |

Put it all together, and JAZZ is looking less like a sleep-drug company bracing for competition and more like a diversified specialty pharma with a growing cancer franchise β with record revenue, a full-year outlook raised above its old ceiling, a newly expanded cancer drug gaining traction, and a deep calendar of catalysts ahead.
The story is getting stronger, but the chart is what could determine whether this move has more room to run in the near term. Here are the bullish technical signals traders should be watching now.
Bullish Technical Signals
#1 Falling Wedge Pattern Breakout: JAZZ has broken out of the falling wedge that has shaped its price action since the late-August peak near $265. The two converging purple trendlines mark a steeper upper boundary of lower highs and a flatter lower boundary anchored back to late May. Each leg down covered less ground than the one before, which is what sellers losing conviction looks like. That exhaustion was clear in late October, when the stock held the $203β$205 area at the wedgeβs lower rail instead of breaking through it. Tuesdayβs session delivered the trigger: a gap from $214.44 to a $225.37 open, then a 7.13% gain to close at $229.74, clearing the upper boundary on the heaviest volume in several weeks (1.68M). The gap matters. Buyers didnβt just absorb supply at the trendline; they paid up overnight to get positioned. The remaining test is the $233 zone, where the declining 50-day SMA ($230.67) capped the intraday high at $234.79. A close above that level turns this wedge breakout into a confirmed trend reversal, which is why it serves as the Case 1 trigger.
JAZZ β Daily Chart
#2 Price Above 200-Day SMA: The breakout also put JAZZ back above its 200-day SMA ($217.15), reversing a late-October slip beneath the long-term average. In hindsight, that breach reads as a shakeout rather than a breakdown: price spent roughly two weeks below the line without follow-through, then reclaimed it decisively. The 200-day is still rising, so the stock is regaining an upward-sloping line rather than one that has rolled over into resistance. The 50-day ($230.67) remains above the 200-day, keeping the golden-cross alignment intact. However, the gap between the two has narrowed as the 50-day turned lower during the correction. This leaves the averages framing the setup cleanly. The 200-day near $217 is the first line of defense, sitting between the $222 pullback entry and the $211 Case 1 stop. The 50-day just overhead is the hurdle price must clear to put both averages back on its side.
#3 Bullish ADX and DI: The directional lines have flipped decisively. +DI has surged from near 10 to 30.95 and crossed above βDI at 20.31, in a near-vertical move that tracks the breakout. That crossover is the core read: directional control is passing from sellers to buyers. ADX at 42.86 sits above both DI lines, well beyond the 25 threshold that separates trending markets from directionless ones. The honest nuance is where that strength came from. ADX peaked near 52 during the October decline, when βDI was in charge, and has been easing since. The elevated reading therefore reflects the force of the correction that just ended, and the current downtick is the old downtrend losing its grip, not a flaw in the new signal. The confirmation to watch is ADX bottoming and turning back up with +DI leading. That would show buyers are now the ones powering the trendβs strength.
#4 Bullish MACD: The MACD line (β4.14) has crossed above its signal line (β6.52), and the histogram has flipped positive at +2.38, with bars growing over the last several sessions. The location defines the signal. The cross fired well below zero, after MACD carved a rounded bottom near β8 in late October, so this is an early-stage reversal read, not confirmation of an established trend. Early crossovers fade more often, but this one has price confirmation behind it: the wedge breakout and the 200-day reclaim. That support is what separates a genuine momentum turn from an oscillator flicker. The expanding histogram shows the gap between short- and longer-term momentum widening, not stalling. The next milestone is a push back above the zero line, which would confirm momentum has fully shifted from correction to advance.
#5 Bull Flag Breakout With Price Above 50- and 200-Week SMAs: On the weekly chart, the daily wedge turns out to be the inner detail of a larger bull flag. The βpoleβ is the advance from roughly $95 in spring 2025 to the ~$265 peak in August 2026. The βflagβ is the orderly, downward-sloping pink channel that followed over about three months. That consolidation gave back roughly $60, or about 35% of the pole, well within the range that keeps a flag healthy. It also found its floor right at the rising 50-week SMA ($209.63), exactly where trend-following buyers would be expected to step in. This weekβs candle has pushed through the flagβs upper boundary with a 6.37% gain to $229.74. The 50-week sits far above the 200-week ($145.56), both slope upward, and the primary trend never broke; the flag simply digested an outsized run. A full measured move would project well beyond both price targets, so PT1 at $270 (essentially a retest of the August highs) and PT2 at $300 sit comfortably within the patternβs potential. With the daily reversal pattern and the weekly continuation pattern triggering in the same week, each validates the other. The daily shows the correction ending, and the weekly shows why the uptrend is likely to resume.
JAZZ β Weekly Chart
#6 Bullish Stochastic: On the weekly stochastic, %K (42.82) has crossed above %D (25.46) after both lines bottomed deep in oversold territory near 10. This is the first bullish crossover on this timeframe since the decline began in August. A weekly cross carries far more weight than a daily one because it filters out short-term noise and reflects a shift in multi-week momentum. Location makes it high-conviction: a crossover from oversold inside a long-term uptrend is the classic pullback-buy signal. It marks the point where the correction has wrung out selling pressure, not the start of a new leg down. The spread between the lines, with %K nearly 17 points above %D, shows a decisive turn rather than a tentative one. With %K only in the low 40s, the oscillator has ample room to climb before overbought conditions become a factor.
#7 Bullish RSI: The weekly RSI has climbed back above the 50 midline to 52.43, recovering from a dip near 40 during the correction. Both halves of that move matter. Bottoming near 40, rather than collapsing toward 30, shows the pullback never broke the stockβs underlying momentum regime. Reclaiming 50 now hands momentum back to buyers. The slope is sharply upward, so momentum is rebuilding rather than drifting along the midline. One nuance: RSI still sits below its own signal average (56.51), so the recovery is underway but not yet complete, and a cross above that average would finish the turn. With the reading far below 70, thereβs plenty of runway before overbought becomes a headwind. Paired with the stochastic crossover, both weekly oscillators are turning up from washed-out levels together, which is the higher-timeframe backing the daily breakout needs.
Risks to Consider
Even strong setups can fail, especially in a commercial-stage specialty pharma name like Jazz Pharmaceuticals. A few things could knock the stock off course:
- A breakdown back inside the falling wedge on heavy volume β especially a close below the 200-day average near $217 β would invalidate the breakout thesis
- Negative company-specific news, broader market weakness, or regulatory, drug-pricing, and reimbursement changes across the pharmaceutical sector could trigger a sell-off
- Post-earnings extension β a 7% one-day gap higher creates pullback and profit-taking risk, and the declining 50-day average ($230.67) already capped the intraday high at $234.79
- Xywav competition β generics, Lumryz, and emerging orexin-based therapies could pressure growth and pricing for Jazz’s largest product (about $482.8 million in Q3 sales)
- Leverage and deal obligations β $5.6 billion in gross debt plus up to $500 million in potential Actio milestone payments constrain flexibility, and the $1.25 billion exchangeable-note financing due 2032 carries possible future dilution
- GAAP losses β Jazz posted a Q3 net loss of $483.4 million (β$7.48 per share), largely from a ~$754 million acquisition-related R&D charge, per the earnings release β making headline valuation metrics hard to read
- Execution across the portfolio β Epidiolex revenue slipped 2% YoY to about $295 million, Ziihera still has to prove rapid commercial adoption, and new maintenance therapies could pressure Zepzelca in 2027
- Pipeline and sentiment risk β ABS-1230 and Modeyso still require successful clinical execution, and short interest of roughly 9.4% of float reflects meaningful skepticism about the story
The Bottom Line
JAZZ is breaking out of a falling wedge on the daily chart while also clearing a multi-month bull flag on the weekly β a dual-timeframe technical setup that historically signals the start of a sustained move higher.
The fundamental story underneath the chart is just as strong: a record $1.243 billion quarter, a full-year sales outlook raised above its old ceiling, and a newly expanded cancer drug with $3β$5 billion peak-sales potential.
Combine that with multiple catalysts staggered through the rest of 2026 and into 2027 β neuro-oncology presentations in mid-November, investor conferences on November 17 and December 2, initial ABS-1230 patient data in Q4, a Modeyso interim survival analysis in 1H 2027, and the Epidiolex capsule FDA decision on April 16, 2027 β and JAZZ looks like one of the more compelling risk-reward setups on the board right now.
If this is a trade you want to get in on, here’s how we’d play it. Below you’ll find our two entry options β one on the breakout, one on a pullback β both price targets that imply 16%β35% potential upside, and the stop-losses we’re using to manage the downside.
Recommended Trade Setup
Because JAZZ gapped higher and stalled just beneath its declining 50-day average, we’re laying out two ways to play it: a breakout entry for traders who want confirmation that the stock has cleared that hurdle, and a pullback entry β which offers the better risk profile β for those willing to wait for a retest of the breakout zone.
Case 1: On Breakout
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Buy Level | Above approximately $233.00 |
| Price Target 1 | $270.00 β Potential upside: 16% |
| Price Target 2 | $300.00 β Potential upside: 29% |
| Timeframe | Next 3β6 months |
| Stop-Loss | $211.00 on a closing basis |
| Trade Invalidation | Void if price hits stop-loss before entry triggers |
If needed, swipe or scroll sideways to view the full table.
For a risk of approximately $22.00 per share, the target rewards are about $37.00 and $67.00 per share. That makes this roughly a 1:2 and 1:3 risk-reward trade. In other words, the setup offers nearly 2x to 3x more potential upside than downside.
Note on Trade Invalidation: This recommendation stays active as long as the technical structure holds. If JAZZ drops to or below the $211.00 stop-loss before the $233.00 entry triggers, the trade is automatically void β the support underpinning the thesis would have broken, and re-entry should only be considered on a fresh setup with its own risk parameters.
Case 2: On Pullback
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Buy Level | On pullback to approximately $222.00 |
| Price Target 1 | $270.00 β Potential upside: 22% |
| Price Target 2 | $300.00 β Potential upside: 35% |
| Timeframe | Next 3β6 months |
| Stop-Loss | $198.00 on a closing basis |
If needed, swipe or scroll sideways to view the full table.
For a risk of approximately $24.00 per share, the target rewards are about $48.00 and $78.00 per share. That makes this roughly a 1:2 and 1:3 risk-reward trade. In other words, the setup offers nearly 2x to 3x more potential upside than downside.
Note on the Stop-Loss: The $198.00 stop sits below both the $203β$205 area where the wedge’s lower rail held in late October and the rising 50-week average ($209.63). A close below it would mean JAZZ has surrendered the entire breakout and broken the floor of its weekly bull flag.
Happy Trading!

π₯ Almost Made the Cut
Today’s featured trade, Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc (NASDAQ: JAZZ), was our top pick of several breakout candidates we evaluated. The following two stocks were strong candidates that made it to the final round β they came up just short of the top spot, but remain on our watchlist and could be featured soon:
Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) β The neuroscience-focused biopharma delivered a standout third quarter, with revenue up 41% year over year, a raised Ingrezza sales outlook, and rapid growth from Crenessity alongside a growing contribution from the newly acquired Vykat XR. Shares broke above key moving averages and prior resistance on heavy volume following the report, but the stock is overbought after a sharp post-earnings gap and Vykat XR faces ongoing safety scrutiny β a pullback toward the breakout zone may offer a better entry ahead of the company’s December 15 R&D Day.
GE Aerospace (NYSE: GE) β The world’s leading commercial jet engine maker continues to post exceptional results, with third-quarter orders up 49%, its second full-year guidance raise of 2026, and a commercial services backlog exceeding $170 billion. Heavy call-option activity points to growing bullish interest as the stock rebounds from a double bottom near major support, though shares are pressing against their 200-day moving average and will need a decisive break above the $330 area to confirm a resumption of the primary uptrend.
