📝 Quick Update: EOG — Approaching PT1

We recommended EOG Resources, Inc. (NYSE: EOG) on September 16, 2026, at a buy level of $147.00, with price targets of $168.00 (PT1) and $178.00 (PT2) and a stop-loss at $137.00 on a closing basis.

The stock continues to push higher — currently trading at $165.54 after touching an intraday high of $165.93 — a gain of approximately 13% from the entry level in just over six weeks, and within about 1.5% of PT1.

What to watch: PT1 at $168.00 is the next milestone, with PT2 at $178.00 beyond it. Our stop-loss at $137.00 remains in effect until PT1 is reached, at which point we’ll update the stop guidance. Traders with a lower risk appetite may consider booking profits near current levels. And now, on to today’s featured setup…

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: REGN) just broke out of a three-month symmetrical triangle to its highest level in roughly two years on a +13.33% single-session surge — and looks headed even higher.

As we’ll get to just ahead, the combination of a blowout quarterly earnings report, a $1 billion deal that expands one of its most important partnerships, and a fresh technical breakout makes REGN one of the more interesting setups on the board. Here’s what’s going on…

The Themes Behind the Move

Regeneron is a U.S.-based biotechnology company that discovers, develops, manufactures, and sells medicines across immunology, eye disease, cancer, cardiovascular, and rare diseases. Its best-known products include Dupixent (an injection for allergic and inflammatory conditions such as eczema and asthma, co-developed with Sanofi), EYLEA and EYLEA HD (eye injections for wet age-related macular degeneration and diabetes-related eye disease), and Libtayo (a cancer immunotherapy).

In plain English, if you know someone who gets regular eye injections to protect their vision, or who finally got their severe eczema or asthma under control with a biweekly shot, there’s a good chance Regeneron’s science is behind it. Its business hinges on Dupixent’s continued growth, how well EYLEA HD offsets cheaper copycat competition for the original EYLEA, and how quickly its deep pipeline of roughly 50 clinical candidates converts into new approvals.

REGN’s latest move reflects a powerful confluence of developments — financial, commercial, and regulatory — that have come together in rapid succession to fundamentally reframe the company’s near-term growth trajectory.

Theme / Catalyst What Happened Why Traders Care
Blockbuster Q3 2026 results On October 30, 2026, Regeneron reported Q3 revenue of $5.116 billion (+36% YoY) and adjusted EPS of $20.07 (+70% YoY), comfortably beating consensus. Dupixent global sales jumped 35% to $6.54 billion (recorded by Sanofi, with Regeneron sharing in the profits), EYLEA HD U.S. sales rose 62% to $699 million, and Libtayo global sales climbed 51% to $550 million. The stock surged +13.33% on the news. This wasn’t a one-product beat — growth came from immunology, eye care, and cancer all at once, alongside better economics from the Sanofi collaboration. A quarter this broad gives the market hard evidence that the growth story has real legs, not just pipeline promise.
Expanded Sanofi alliance + new FDA approvals In October 2026, Regeneron expanded its Sanofi collaboration to cover four next-generation, long-acting immunology antibodies targeting inflammatory pathways including IL-4 and IL-13 — the same biology behind Dupixent. The deal includes a $1 billion upfront payment (expected as Q4 revenue) and up to $7 billion in milestones, with costs and profits shared equally. Earlier, the FDA approved Pasatru in August for fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP), an ultra-rare disorder in which soft tissue gradually turns into bone, and approved the gene therapy Otarmeni for an inherited form of hearing loss in April — with European regulators accepting its application under accelerated assessment. Regeneron also extended its U.S. government (BARDA) agreement for its Ebola treatment, adding about $270 million in expected payments through 2031. The Sanofi expansion extends the life of Regeneron’s most valuable franchise well beyond Dupixent itself, while the $1 billion upfront payment lands as near-term revenue. Back-to-back FDA approvals show the in-house R&D engine is still converting science into new products — and new revenue streams.
Sector tailwinds Demand for biologic immunology treatments remains strong, and Regeneron has a foot in several of biotech’s hottest themes: obesity (a Phase 2 program exploring how to preserve muscle during GLP-1 weight loss), gene-silencing (RNAi) treatments for fatty liver disease (an early study showed roughly 70% average liver-fat reduction at 12 weeks), cancer antibodies, and gene therapy. Per the company’s Q3 business update and latest SEC filing, its cash position gives it ample flexibility to fund this work or pursue new partnerships. Investors are paying up for exposure to obesity, metabolic disease, and next-generation immunology. Regeneron offers a diversified way to play all of them — backed by an established, profitable commercial business rather than a single binary bet.
Fortress balance sheet + raised guidance Q3 GAAP net income rose 33% to $1.949 billion (GAAP EPS $18.45, +35% YoY), and Sanofi collaboration revenue jumped 68% to $2.724 billion. Per the September 2026 Form 10-Q, Regeneron held roughly $18.86 billion in cash and marketable securities, generated $2.904 billion in nine-month free cash flow, and bought back about $2.3 billion in stock, with ~$2.2 billion left on its authorization. Management also raised its full-year product gross margin guidance to about 86% and trimmed SG&A guidance to $2.4–$2.5 billion. Nearly $19 billion in cash, steady buybacks, and fatter margins give Regeneron the financial muscle to absorb pipeline setbacks, fund its $6.05–$6.15 billion R&D budget, and keep returning capital to shareholders — a rare combination of growth and financial strength in biotech.
Analyst coverage Among the 23 analysts covering REGN over the last three months, the average twelve-month price target sits at $905.91, with a high target of $1,050.00 — implying roughly 13% upside at the top end. Post-earnings actions were decisively positive: JPMorgan raised its target from $950 to $1,050 (Overweight), BofA to $1,030 (Buy), Raymond James from $911 to $1,020 (Buy), and Piper Sandler from $865 to $1,000 (Buy). UBS upgraded the stock from Neutral to Buy in mid-October, lifting its target from $660 to $978. The stock has run past the average target, but the fresh cluster of $1,000+ targets from JPMorgan, BofA, Raymond James, and Piper Sandler suggests coverage is still catching up to the new numbers. Not everyone is on board — Citi ($825) and RBC ($810) remain more cautious — so the dispersion is worth keeping in mind.
Market conviction signal REGN closed at $927.89 on roughly 2.87 million shares — the heaviest volume on the chart — and finished within a few dollars of the session high of $935.35. Options activity ran at roughly 5x normal, with about 4,599 contracts traded against a 30-day average of 913, per Market Chameleon. That said, the unusual options flow was mixed, and dark-pool data doesn’t show clear directional accumulation. The cleanest signal here is in the stock itself: a gap higher on outsized volume that held into the close, with buyers defending the old $835 ceiling on the intraday dip. That’s what institutional demand tends to look like — even if the options tape isn’t making a big directional bet either way.
Upcoming triggers Traders are watching interim fatty-liver-disease data at the AASLD Liver Meeting (Nov 5–9), Phase 2 results in POTS (a disorder that causes abnormal heart-rate spikes on standing) at the American Autonomic Society meeting (Nov 10–14), and — most importantly — the November FDA decision on cemdisiran for generalized myasthenia gravis, a chronic autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness. Further out: an EYLEA HD prefilled syringe decision expected by year-end, Q4 earnings in early 2027, and FDA decisions on Ordspono for a common type of lymphoma (February 2027) and alternative Libtayo dosing (March 2027). A staggered set of catalysts — clinical data, FDA decisions, and earnings — each capable of independently moving the stock through year-end and into 2027. An approval for cemdisiran would make it the first treatment of its kind for the disease, potentially dosed just four times a year.

Put it all together, and REGN is looking less like a mature biotech defending an aging eye-drug franchise and more like a cash-rich, diversified growth company — with Dupixent accelerating, EYLEA HD offsetting legacy erosion, a freshly expanded Sanofi alliance, and a packed calendar of FDA decisions on deck.

The story is getting stronger, but the chart is what could determine whether this move has more room to run in the near term. Here are the bullish technical signals traders should be watching now.

Bullish Technical Signals

#1 Symmetrical Triangle Pattern Breakout: REGN has broken out of a symmetrical triangle on the daily chart, marked in purple. The pattern took shape over roughly three months: the upper trendline came down from the August highs, and the lower trendline rose from the June lows. Each side kept giving ground as price printed lower highs and higher lows, squeezing volatility into a tighter coil. Friday’s session resolved it decisively. REGN gapped higher and closed at $927.89, up +13.33% (+$109.12), on 2.87M shares, the heaviest volume bar on the chart. The move did more than pierce the upper trendline near $825. It also cleared the September swing high near $860, which was the top of the entire pattern, so no part of the triangle’s supply is left overhead. Because the triangle formed after the June–August advance, this is a continuation breakout in the direction of the prior trend, which is how these patterns usually resolve. Price also closed within a few dollars of the session high ($935.35), which shows buyers held their gains into the bell rather than fading the gap. The pattern’s widest point spans roughly $200, and projecting that from the breakout zone points toward the ~$1,020 area, in line with our second target.

REGN – Daily Chart

#2 Price Above 50-Day and 200-Day MAs: REGN now trades well above both its 50-day SMA ($793.30) and its 200-day SMA ($737.54). The 50-day crossed above the 200-day in late September and is still above it, so the golden-cross alignment is intact and still widening. The two averages tell a consistent story. The 50-day has climbed steeply since July, while the 200-day has flattened and begun to curl higher, so both the short-term and long-term trends point the same way. They also form a tiered support structure, with the 50-day near $793 as the first line of defense and the 200-day near $738 as the deeper structural floor. The caveat is that the gap leaves price about 17% above the 50-day and about 26% above the 200-day, which is stretched by any standard. Some consolidation or a pullback toward the $880 zone would be a normal digestion of the move and would not break the thesis. That is exactly why the setup includes a second, lower entry.

#3 Bullish ADX and DI: The directional read is lopsided in the bulls’ favor. +DI sits at 46.79 against a –DI of just 8.81, a spread of nearly 38 points, which means buying pressure dominates and selling pressure has almost disappeared. The ADX line tells the more important story. In early October it was suppressed near 20, beneath both DI lines, a sign the market was coiling without a trend. It has since turned higher, crossed above –DI, and now reads 28.30, clearly through the 25 threshold that separates a trending market from a range. ADX rising from a compressed base is the highest-quality version of this signal, because it shows a new trend gaining force rather than an old one running out of steam. With ADX still well below +DI, trend strength has room to keep building. The widening of the DI spread is partly the effect of a single large session, so the confirmation to watch is whether ADX keeps rising over the coming days.

#4 Bullish Aroon: Aroon Up is pinned at 100% while Aroon Down sits at 7.14%, the strongest bullish configuration the indicator can show. A reading of 100 means Friday printed a fresh 14-day high, which is what the triangle breakout should produce. The 7.14% Aroon Down means the most recent 14-day low is 13 sessions old and about to roll out of the lookback window entirely. In practical terms, new highs are arriving and new lows have stopped. This also isn’t the indicator’s first strong reading. Aroon Up has held above 70 for most of the past three weeks as price pressed against the upper trendline. Read alongside the ADX setup in #3, the two trend measures agree: one shows direction (new highs, no new lows) and the other shows strength building behind it.

#5 Above Support Area with Price Above 50-Week and 200-Week MAs: On the weekly chart, REGN has cleared the $835 level, marked as the pink dotted line. That level capped the August–September rally attempts. It has now flipped from resistance to support, and levels that successfully reverse roles tend to be the ones the market keeps respecting. The flip is already getting tested. Friday’s daily low of $839.08 held just above $835, so even the intraday gap-fill attempt found buyers at the old ceiling. The weekly candle itself closed at $927.89, up +15.26% on the week and near its high, with price above both the 50-week SMA ($743.30) and the 200-week SMA ($780.73). One honest nuance: the 50-week still sits below the 200-week, so there is no weekly golden cross yet. The 50-week has been rising steadily, though, and the gap between the two is narrowing, so the longer-term averages are moving toward alignment. For broader context, the ~$930 zone also roughly marks the 61.8% retracement of the 2024–2025 decline, so a sustained push through our $933 trigger would clear a meaningful overhead marker as well. The daily and weekly charts agree on the bullish read, which gives the signal more weight than either timeframe would carry alone.

REGN – Weekly Chart

#6 Bullish MACD: The weekly MACD line (33.68) sits above its signal line (22.65), with a histogram of +11.03, and both lines are above the zero line. That location matters. A crossover above zero confirms an established uptrend rather than an early attempt to turn a downtrend. The recent path adds conviction. The bullish crossover fired in July close to the zero line, which is the higher-quality spot for it. During the September–October pullback the two lines converged and nearly crossed back down, but the MACD turned higher without a bearish cross. Lines that reject a bearish cross and then separate again show momentum reaccelerating, not just persisting. This week’s histogram bar is the largest in several months, so the spread is widening and the trend is picking up pace on the timeframe that matters most for a 3–6 month hold.

#7 Bullish Stoch: The weekly stochastic shows %K at 97.30 above %D at 80.60, a clear bullish configuration. The quality of this signal comes from where the crossover happened. During the September–October pullback, the oscillator dipped only to the mid-range and never reached oversold, then turned up and crossed from there. In an established uptrend, a mid-range crossover is the stronger signal, because it shows buyers stepping in on a shallow dip rather than waiting for capitulation. The tension worth naming is that both lines are now in overbought territory, which confirms buyers are firmly in control but also shows the move is stretched in the near term. Strong trends can stay overbought on the weekly chart for many weeks, as REGN’s own 2024 advance showed, so the takeaway is not to avoid the stock. Pullbacks are simply better entries than chasing strength, which supports the $880 entry as the higher-quality option.

Risks to Consider

Even strong setups can fail, especially in a large-cap biotech like Regeneron coming off a sharp one-day repricing. A few things could knock the stock off course:

  • A breakdown back into the symmetrical triangle — and especially a close below the $835 support area — on heavy volume would invalidate the breakout thesis
  • Negative company-specific news or broader market weakness — after a +13.33% single-day gap that left price roughly 17% above its 50-day average, the stock is vulnerable to short-term profit-taking or a rotation out of biotech
  • EYLEA erosion — legacy EYLEA U.S. sales fell 41% to $400 million as lower-cost biosimilar competitors gained ground; EYLEA HD’s 62% growth offset most of it, but the combined U.S. franchise still slipped about 1%
  • Earnings quality — per the company’s latest 10-Q, part of Q3’s earnings growth reflects the elimination of a prior Sanofi development-balance deduction, nine-month free cash flow declined from about $3.16 billion a year earlier to $2.904 billion, and Q4’s $1 billion Sanofi upfront is a one-time boost, not recurring demand
  • Pipeline setbacks — Phase 3 studies in lichen simplex chronicus (a chronic itchy skin condition) missed their primary goals, Regeneron withdrew a European Dupixent application in bullous pemphigoid, and a May 2026 Phase 3 melanoma study of fianlimab missed its main endpoint
  • Regulatory binary risk — the November FDA decision on cemdisiran could gap the stock sharply in either direction, and the EYLEA HD prefilled syringe timeline still depends on resolving manufacturing issues flagged by the FDA
  • Drug pricing and rising costs — April 2026 U.S. government agreements tied to international reference pricing, plus adjusted R&D guidance raised to $6.05–$6.15 billion, could weigh on future margins
  • Valuation and analyst dispersion — the average analyst target of $905.91 already sits below the current price, and Citi ($825) and RBC ($810) imply downside, leaving less margin for error if growth cools

The Bottom Line

REGN is breaking out of a three-month symmetrical triangle on the daily chart while also clearing and holding above the $835 resistance-turned-support level on the weekly — a dual-timeframe technical setup that historically signals the start of a sustained move higher.

The fundamental story underneath the chart is just as strong: a blowout Q3 with revenue up 36% and adjusted EPS up 70%, an expanded Sanofi alliance worth $1 billion upfront, and a fortress balance sheet with nearly $19 billion in cash.

Combine that with multiple clinical and regulatory catalysts staggered through November and into early 2027 — fatty-liver data at AASLD, the November FDA decision on cemdisiran, an EYLEA HD prefilled syringe decision expected by year-end, Q4 earnings, and FDA decisions on Ordspono and Libtayo dosing — and REGN looks like one of the more compelling risk-reward setups on the board right now.

If this is a trade you want to get in on, here’s how we’d play it. Below you’ll find our two entry options, the price targets that imply 5%–9% potential upside from the breakout entry and 11%–16% potential upside from the pullback entry, and the stop-losses we’re using to manage the downside.

Recommended Trade Setup

We’re offering two ways to play this setup. The breakout entry is for traders who want to buy strength once REGN confirms above Friday’s high. The pullback entry is for those who’d rather wait for the stock to digest its sharp gap higher — and, as the technicals above suggest, it’s the higher-quality option with the better risk-reward. Each entry runs under its own parameters.

Case 1: Breakout Entry

Item Detail
Buy Level Above approximately $933.00
Price Target 1 $980.00 — Potential upside: 5%
Price Target 2 $1,020.00 — Potential upside: 9%
Timeframe Next 3–6 months
Stop-Loss $906.00 on a closing basis
Trade Invalidation Void if price hits stop-loss before entry triggers; the pullback entry at $880.00 remains active under its own parameters

If needed, swipe or scroll sideways to view the full table.

For a risk of approximately $27.00 per share, the target rewards are about $47.00 and $87.00 per share. That makes this roughly a 1:2 and 1:3 risk-reward trade. In other words, the setup offers nearly 2x to 3x more potential upside than downside.

Note on Trade Invalidation: This recommendation stays active as long as the technical structure holds. If REGN drops to or below the $906.00 stop-loss before the $933.00 entry triggers, the breakout trade is automatically void — the support underpinning the thesis would have broken, and the risk-reward setup would no longer justify entry. The pullback entry below remains active under its own parameters.

Case 2: Pullback Entry

Item Detail
Buy Level On a pullback to approximately $880.00
Price Target 1 $980.00 — Potential upside: 11%
Price Target 2 $1,020.00 — Potential upside: 16%
Timeframe Next 3–6 months
Stop-Loss $835.00 on a closing basis
Trade Invalidation Void if price hits stop-loss before entry triggers

If needed, swipe or scroll sideways to view the full table.

For a risk of approximately $45.00 per share, the target rewards are about $100.00 and $140.00 per share. That makes this roughly a 1:2 and 1:3 risk-reward trade. In other words, the setup offers nearly 2x to 3x more potential upside than downside.

Happy Trading!

🥈 Almost Made the Cut

Today’s featured trade, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: REGN), was our top pick of several breakout candidates we evaluated. The following two stocks were strong candidates that made it to the final round — they came up just short of the top spot, but remain on our watchlist and could be featured soon:

AbbVie Inc. (NYSE: ABBV) — The immunology leader keeps proving its growth beyond Humira: Skyrizi and Rinvoq each grew more than 20%, neuroscience grew nearly 20%, and management raised full-year guidance for the third time this year alongside a 5.2% dividend increase. The stock just broke to a record high after a two-week pause, but its lower volatility makes a big move over a three-month window harder to achieve, so a pullback toward its recent consolidation zone could offer a more attractive entry.

Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: GILD) — Gilead delivered its strongest underlying growth since 2015, led by an 18% rise in HIV sales and a near-doubling of its HIV-prevention franchise, raised full-year guidance for the third time, and has a December 23 FDA decision on its multiple myeloma cell therapy, anito-cel, on deck. The stock broke out of a multi-month base to record highs, but a sharp rejection wick after two straight gap-ups and the known 2028 Medicare pricing impact on Biktarvy suggest a near-term pause, so a pullback toward the breakout area could offer a better entry.
