πŸ“ Quick Update: MSFT β€” Approaching PT2

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) continues to push toward PT2 at $530.00 β€” currently trading at $512.90 after touching an intraday high of $519.83. PT1 at $503.00 was achieved on August 7, within about a week of our $460.00 entry, and the stock is now up more than 11% from that level. Trail stops at $460.00 remain in effect. Traders who prefer to lock in gains rather than wait for PT2 may consider exiting at current levels. And now, on to today’s featured setup…

Zeta Global Holdings Corp. (NYSE: ZETA) just broke out of a bull flag on a +9% single-session surge β€” and looks headed even higher.

As we’ll get to just ahead, the combination of a remarkable streak of beating expectations and raising its outlook, a major AI partnership that broadens its growth story, and a fresh technical breakout makes ZETA one of the more interesting setups on the board. Here’s what’s going on…

The Themes Behind the Move

Zeta Global is a New York–based marketing technology company that runs a cloud platform combining consumer data with AI-powered marketing software. Its lineup includes the Zeta Marketing Platform, Zeta Messaging (an email and multichannel messaging service), the Zeta Consumer Data Platform (a single record of everything a brand knows about its customers and prospects), an ad-buying platform for paid media across desktop, inbox, mobile, connected TV and social, and Athena by Zeta β€” an AI interface that sits on top of the whole system.

In plain English, when a big bank, retailer, or airline wants to know which customers are about to buy, which are about to leave, and exactly what message to send each one β€” by email, text, app, or online ad β€” Zeta is the system that crunches the data and delivers the right message to the right person. Its business hinges on landing and expanding large enterprise accounts, proving that its AI tools drive measurable results, and staying ahead of much larger rivals like Salesforce and Adobe.

ZETA’s latest move reflects a powerful confluence of developments β€” financial, strategic, and sentiment-driven β€” that have come together to fundamentally reframe the company from a marketing-software vendor into a broader enterprise data-and-AI platform.

Theme / Catalyst What Happened Why Traders Care
20th straight beat-and-raise + first GAAP profit On August 4, 2026, Zeta reported Q2 revenue of $443 million (+44% YoY), about $23 million above the midpoint of its own guidance β€” its 20th consecutive “beat-and-raise” quarter (beating its forecast and lifting its outlook). Adjusted EBITDA (a common gauge of operating profit) rose 56% to $92 million, free cash flow jumped 73% to $58 million, and the company posted its first positive GAAP quarterly net income β€” roughly $8 million ($0.03 per share). Management raised FY2026 revenue guidance to $1.811B–$1.824B (~39–40% growth). Twenty straight quarters of under-promising and over-delivering builds rare credibility with institutional investors. Crossing into profitability under standard accounting rules (GAAP) opens the door to funds that avoid money-losing software names β€” and expanding margins show the growth isn’t being bought at any cost.
AI platform expansion β€” Palantir + OpenAI On June 23, 2026, Zeta and Palantir announced a strategic partnership under which Zeta’s Data Cloud is being rebuilt on Palantir Foundry, with Athena by Zeta at the center β€” and Palantir will support Zeta’s sales efforts across eligible Foundry enterprise customers. Athena itself runs on advanced OpenAI models following a collaboration announced in January, and it moved to general availability in March 2026. Zeta is also pushing overseas, opening a London hub on September 22 with 120+ U.K. employees and a new U.K. president who previously held senior roles at HubSpot, Salesforce and Google. These moves reposition Zeta from a traditional marketing-software vendor into a broader enterprise data + AI decision platform β€” the kind of story that can command a premium valuation. Palantir’s sales support is a potential new channel into some of the world’s largest companies.
Sector tailwinds On September 10, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) raised its 2026 U.S. ad-spend growth forecast to 12.3% from 9.5%, and found that 86% of ad buyers are changing β€” or expect to change β€” how they measure media performance because of AI agents within the next 12 months. Separately, Gartner forecasts worldwide spending on AI models and platforms to rise 63.4% in 2026 to $64 billion. A faster-growing ad market plus a wholesale rethink of how marketing is measured in the AI era plays directly into Zeta’s strengths β€” proprietary consumer data, AI-driven decisioning, and measurable results. The catch: buyers increasingly demand proof of return on investment, so execution β€” not AI branding alone β€” is the real competitive test.
$1B credit facility + growing big-customer base On July 27, Zeta closed a new $1 billion credit facility β€” a $250M term loan plus a $750M revolving credit line that was undrawn at closing β€” refinancing its prior $550M facility at lower borrowing spreads. Underneath, the business is throwing off cash: Q2 operating cash flow was $69M (+65%), “Super-Scaled” customers (those generating at least $1M in trailing revenue) climbed to 197 (+17%), and average revenue per Super-Scaled customer rose 17% to $1.8M. The bigger credit line gives Zeta firepower for acquisitions, share buybacks, and general corporate purposes without leaning on shareholders. And growth in both the number of large customers and how much each one spends is the healthiest kind of growth a software company can show.
Analyst coverage Among the 14 analysts offering 12-month price targets over the past three months, the average target sits at $31.92, with a high of $44.00 β€” implying roughly 39% upside at the top end from the $31.57 close. On September 30, William Blair added ZETA to its Analyst Conviction List (Outperform) after meeting with management. Other recent analyst actions: DA Davidson raised its target $32 β†’ $36 (Buy) on Sep. 28, Citi raised $26 β†’ $35 (Buy) on Aug. 11, and BofA raised $29 β†’ $34 on Aug. 19, while Freedom Broker downgraded to Hold (~$29 target) on Aug. 6. The stock has already caught up with the average target, so the next leg likely depends on rising estimates and continued execution. But the high-end $44 target β€” right in line with our PT2 β€” and a fresh conviction-list addition show part of the Street sees considerably more room. Rising targets tend to follow beat-and-raise quarters.
Market conviction signal Short interest has roughly halved β€” from 36.4M shares (16.4% of float) on June 30 to 17.99M (8.03%) as of Sep. 15. In the Sep. 30 breakout session, ZETA opened at its low, closed near its high (+9.01%) on 11.17M shares, and options flow tilted bullish, with $4.95M in calls vs. $657.5K in puts. Short sellers covering into strength, a call-heavy options tape, and an open-at-the-low, close-near-the-high candle on rising volume all point to buyers being firmly in control. Overall options premium was only modestly above normal (~1.09Γ— its 90-day average), so treat it as bullish confirmation rather than a “whale” signal.
Upcoming triggers Traders are watching Zeta Live 2026 on October 8 (confirmed) at Lincoln Center for Athena product news, Palantir integration progress, and new enterprise customers; the Palantir Foundry integration milestone management targeted around the Q3 period; and Q3 earnings in early November (estimated Nov. 3–10, not yet confirmed by the company), where the bar is management’s guidance of $469M–$472M in revenue and $115M–$116M in adjusted EBITDA. A flagship event just a week away, a partnership milestone, and an earnings report that could stretch the beat-and-raise streak to 21 quarters β€” each capable of independently moving the stock through the fall.

Put it all together, and ZETA is looking less like a marketing-software stock riding a momentum wave and more like a newly profitable, cash-generating data-and-AI platform with blue-chip partners, a fresh $1 billion war chest, and a packed near-term calendar to keep the story moving.

The story is getting stronger, but the chart is what could determine whether this move has more room to run in the near term. Here are the bullish technical signals traders should be watching now.

Bullish Technical Signals

#1 Flag Pattern Breakout: ZETA has broken out of a bull flag on the daily chart. The “pole” is the advance from the late-June low near $17.50 to the early-September peak near $33.00, a gain of nearly 90% in about ten weeks. The “flag” is the roughly four weeks of orderly, downward-sloping consolidation that followed (marked in purple), and volume dried up through that stretch. That is how a healthy flag should behave: the stock digested its gains without anyone dumping it in size. The latest session resolved the pattern emphatically. ZETA opened at its low of $29.21, closed near its high at $31.57 (+9.01%), sliced through the flag’s upper boundary, and reclaimed the $30 level on 11.17M shares, a clear step up from the subdued volume during the flag. An open-at-the-low, close-near-the-high candle means buyers controlled the session from the first trade to the last. Adding the pole’s roughly $15.50 height to the ~$30 breakout point projects a measured move into the mid-$40s, which lines up with our $44 second target. The thesis still has one hurdle: the close sits below the $33 flag high and September peak. Clearing that level confirms the next leg, which is why Case 1 triggers there.

ZETA – Daily Chart

#2 Price Above MAs: ZETA trades above both its 50-day SMA ($27.93) and 200-day SMA ($21.12), with the 50-day stacked well above the 200-day in a firm golden-cross alignment. Both averages are rising, and the 200-day has turned decisively higher since July after a flat first half of the year, a sign that the longer-term trend has genuinely changed rather than just bounced. The 50-day also proved itself as support during the flag. The flag’s lower boundary converged into the rising average near $28, and the late-September dip found buyers just above it. This gives buyers a tiered defense structure: $30 first (the breakout level and our Case 2 entry), then the 50-day near $28, then the 200-day near $21 as the deep structural floor. At roughly 13% above the 50-day, price is not badly stretched. Still, after a 9% single-session thrust, a retest of $30 would be a normal breather rather than a crack in the setup.

#3 Bullish ADX and DI: The directional read flipped in the breakout session. +DI (27.90) surged above –DI (15.58), opening a spread of roughly 12 points, so buyers now control trend direction. The ADX line (17.36) sits between the two, and the context behind that reading matters. ADX bled down from around 50 in early September as the flag drained trend strength, which is exactly the compression that precedes a new directional leg. –DI has now slipped beneath ADX, meaning selling pressure is weaker than the market’s overall trend energy. A sub-25 reading means the next trend is in its early innings with runway ahead. The confirmation still to come is ADX itself hooking higher off this compressed base. When it does, a rising ADX beneath a dominant +DI is the highest-quality version of this signal. Combined with the flag breakout, the structural and directional reads now point the same way.

#4 Bullish Stochastic: The daily stochastic (14, 1, 3) has fired a sharp bullish crossover from oversold territory. %K (86.76) vaulted above %D (44.75) after the flag’s late-September pullback pushed both lines toward the 20 level. In an established uptrend, an oversold reading during a consolidation is a momentum reset, not a warning, and a crossover out of that zone signals the reset is complete. The 42-point gap between the lines shows how forceful the single-session reversal was. This is a fast oscillator, though, and %K is already brushing 80 after one day. The short-term read is stretched, and %D is still catching up. A drift back toward $30 would let the indicator cool without damaging the trend. The flag drained both stochastic momentum and ADX trend strength, and those reserves are what the breakout is now drawing on.

#5 Above Support Area with Price Above MAs: The weekly chart places the daily breakout on a validated base. The support area near $29.22 (pink dotted line) marks the zone where ZETA traded in late 2024, before its blow-off spike and collapse. Price reclaimed it during the August surge, and the level has held through the entire flag. This week’s candle tested that support directly: it dipped to $28.03 intraweek and was bought back above $31. A failed breakdown like that typically shakes out the last weak holders. Higher-timeframe trend support is fully aligned: price sits above a rising 50-week SMA ($20.77) and 200-week SMA ($15.95), with the 50-week comfortably above the 200-week. Since the 2025 trough near $11, ZETA has rebuilt its entire structure and now trades within reach of its late-2024 highs in the high-$30s. The weekly $29.22 support and the daily $30 breakout level form a single $29–$30 defense band that both timeframes agree on.

ZETA – Weekly Chart

#6 Bullish MACD: The weekly MACD line (3.28) remains above its signal line (2.61), with a positive histogram (0.6662). Both lines sit well above zero, so this signal confirms an established uptrend rather than an early, unproven turn. The line crossed into positive territory in the spring and has since climbed to its highest readings since the 2024 rally. The histogram has contracted for several weeks from its August peak, which is the indicator’s version of the flag: momentum cooled while price consolidated. More important is what did not happen. The MACD line never crossed below its signal line during the pullback, and it is curling higher again this week. A momentum pause that resolves without a bearish crossover is a continuation signal. Renewed histogram expansion over the coming weeks would confirm the trend is reaccelerating.

#7 Bullish RSI: The weekly RSI (68.71) sits well above its 50 midline and its own signal average (63.49), and it is turning higher again. Its behavior during the consolidation stands out. While price drifted lower inside the flag, RSI eased only from the low-70s into the mid-60s and never approached 50. In strong uptrends, RSI’s floor rises and pullbacks stall in the 60s, and ZETA is showing that pattern. The honest nuance is that RSI is within about a point of the 70 overbought threshold, so near-term runway on this oscillator is limited. Overbought is not a ceiling, though. In the 2024 advance, ZETA’s weekly RSI held above 70 for months while price kept climbing. Daily and weekly now agree, which makes the signal more reliable than either timeframe alone: the daily shows a fresh breakout, and the weekly shows a trend with momentum intact.

Risks to Consider

Even strong setups can fail, especially in a high-growth marketing-technology name like Zeta Global. A few things could knock the stock off course:

  • A breakdown from the flag pattern on heavy volume β€” particularly a close back below the $29–$30 defense band β€” would invalidate the breakout thesis and could reverse the overall trend
  • Negative company-specific news, broader market weakness, or regulatory changes in the sector could trigger a sell-off regardless of the fundamentals
  • Valuation and technical extension β€” ZETA closed Sep. 30 at $31.57, close to its $32.81 52-week high, after a roughly 60% Q3 advance, and the stock is already trading around the consensus analyst target, leaving less room for error if execution slips
  • Reported vs. organic growth β€” Q3 guidance implies 39–40% headline revenue growth but only 23–24% excluding acquisitions and political-candidate revenue, so not all of the reported growth is organic
  • AI monetization and execution risk β€” Athena, Palantir, and OpenAI increasingly support the valuation narrative; if those partnerships prove hard to quantify in customer spend or revenue, the AI premium could compress
  • Competition from large marketing-technology and customer-data vendors such as Salesforce, Adobe, and LiveRamp β€” and AI itself can lower software barriers and increase pricing pressure across the sector
  • Privacy and data regulation β€” changes to privacy rules, identity-resolution practices, or permissible uses of consumer data could raise compliance and data-acquisition costs
  • A fading short-covering tailwind β€” short float has fallen from 16.4% in June to ~8% by Sep. 15, leaving considerably less squeeze fuel than earlier in the year

The Bottom Line

ZETA is breaking out of a bull flag on the daily chart while holding above a reclaimed support area on the weekly β€” a dual-timeframe technical setup that historically signals the start of a sustained move higher.

The fundamental story underneath the chart is just as strong: 20 straight beat-and-raise quarters, its first profitable quarter under GAAP, and 44% revenue growth.

Combine that with multiple strategic and financial catalysts staggered through the fall β€” Zeta Live on October 8, the Palantir integration milestone, continued Athena adoption, and Q3 earnings in early November β€” and ZETA looks like one of the more compelling risk-reward setups on the board right now.

If this is a trade you want to get in on, here’s how we’d play it. Below you’ll find two entry options β€” one on a breakout and one on a pullback β€” along with price targets that imply 17%–33% potential upside, and the stop-losses we’re using to manage the downside.

Recommended Trade Setup

Case 1: On Breakout

Item Detail
Buy Level Above approximately $33.00
Price Target 1 $39.00 β€” Potential upside: 18%
Price Target 2 $44.00 β€” Potential upside: 33%
Timeframe Next 3–6 months
Stop-Loss $29.50 on a closing basis
Trade Invalidation Void if price hits stop-loss before entry triggers

If needed, swipe or scroll sideways to view the full table.

For a risk of approximately $3.50 per share, the target rewards are about $6.00 and $11.00 per share. That makes this roughly a 1:2 and 1:3 risk-reward trade. In other words, the setup offers nearly 2x to 3x more potential upside than downside.

Note on Trade Invalidation: This recommendation stays active as long as the technical structure holds. If ZETA drops to or below the $29.50 stop-loss before the $33.00 entry triggers, the trade is automatically void β€” the support underpinning the thesis would have broken, and the risk-reward setup would no longer justify entry.

Case 2: On Pullback

Item Detail
Buy Level On pullback to approximately $30.00
Price Target 1 $35.00 β€” Potential upside: 17%
Price Target 2 $39.00 β€” Potential upside: 30%
Timeframe Next 3–6 months
Stop-Loss $27.00 on a closing basis

If needed, swipe or scroll sideways to view the full table.

For a risk of approximately $3.00 per share, the target rewards are about $5.00 and $9.00 per share. That makes this roughly a 1:2 and 1:3 risk-reward trade. In other words, the setup offers nearly 2x to 3x more potential upside than downside.

Happy Trading!

πŸ₯ˆ Almost Made the Cut

Today’s featured trade, Zeta Global Holdings Corp. (NYSE: ZETA), was our top pick of several breakout candidates we evaluated. The following two stocks were strong candidates that made it to the final round β€” they came up just short of the top spot, but remain on our watchlist and could be featured soon:

FormFactor, Inc. (NASDAQ: FORM) β€” A leading supplier of the advanced probe cards used to test AI processors and high-bandwidth memory, FormFactor posted record quarterly revenue of $258.2 million (+31.9% YoY) and guided the current quarter higher still, while options activity ran nearly five times its 90-day average and leaned heavily toward calls. Its long-term uptrend is among the strongest on our list, but after a sharp run into its $150–$160 resistance zone, a better entry may come on a confirmed breakout above $160 or a pullback toward the low $140s.

AvePoint, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVPT) β€” As enterprises scale AI across Microsoft 365 and other cloud platforms, AvePoint’s data-governance and security tools are becoming an increasingly important layer of control. The company grew revenue 22% to $124.5 million last quarter, generates solid free cash flow, and has been actively buying back shares β€” and its months-long base just below its highs means a decisive move above $14.45 ahead of early-November earnings could set the stage for the next leg higher.
