Each weekday, we publish one carefully selected breakout trade idea β a stock with a strong technical chart and a real-world catalyst behind it.
Quick to read, easy to act on, free to receive in your inbox every weekday before the market opens.
What We Publish
Trades of the Day is focused on one thing: helping active traders find high-quality breakout setups in the stock market.
Each weekday, you’ll get one new breakout trade idea. Each issue includes the stock and ticker, the catalyst or theme driving the move, a breakdown of the bullish technical setup, and the key risks to consider. Most issues are designed to be read in just a few minutes β long enough to evaluate the idea, short enough to decide whether it fits your strategy before the market opens.
In addition to the daily breakout, we also publish:
- π A weekly breakout watchlist every Sunday highlighting 10 stocks worth watching in the week ahead
- π¦ Daily analyst upgrades and downgrades from Wall Street
- π§ Occasional educational articles designed to help readers better understand the signals and setups we track
Our Approach
We focus on breakouts because, year after year, they remain one of the most reliable patterns in markets β and one of the most accessible setups for active retail traders.
A breakout is a specific, identifiable moment when a stock clears a resistance level it has been struggling against β usually after a period of tight consolidation, often on heavy volume, and frequently in the presence of a fundamental catalyst that’s been quietly building underneath. The chart tells us when. The catalyst tells us why.
When both line up, you have a setup worth a closer look.

Not every setup hits its target. Some stop out. Some go nowhere. That’s the nature of trading. But the framework β breakout + catalyst + defined risk β is the same on every idea we publish, win or lose.
Who This Is For

If you’re a self-directed trader who’s comfortable with technical chart analysis and wants one new breakout idea to consider each weekday, you’re in the right place.
Meet the Team
Tara Young β Technical Analyst
Tara is the analytical engine behind Trades of the Day. She’s a professional technical analyst. She specializes in identifying high-probability breakout setups through detailed chart analysis β spotting emerging price patterns, momentum shifts, and breakout opportunities with clearly defined risk and strong upside potential. The trade ideas that have delivered the results above came from her work.
Beyond the technical analysis, Tara is methodical and thorough in everything she does. She takes editorial direction and implements it with care β refining setups, executing process changes, and maintaining the consistency and quality standards that make Trades of the Day reliable from one issue to the next. She also authors our educational materials, helping readers understand the technical concepts behind the setups we feature.
Greg Patrick β Publisher
Greg is the publisher of Trades of the Day and works closely alongside Tara to maximize the value of every idea we put in front of our readers. His focus is editorial β refining each setup with the catalyst, theme, and risks behind the chart, calling out timely updates as trades develop, and continuously improving the format so readers get more out of every issue.
Greg led the recent pivot to a focused single-idea-per-day format β moving away from a broader newsletter of multiple ideas from multiple analysts toward one carefully selected breakout setup each trading day. The thinking behind the change was simple: one strong idea, fully developed, is more useful to an active trader than five half-developed ones.
